Wonderful game! I heavily relate to the main character and I don't know if this is what you were going for but the game felt oddly comforting and cozy. I loved it. But I do wish to ask, as a fellow indie game maker, did you use RPG maker to make this game? and which version? if you feel comfortable telling me, I'd like to make my own custom game but I'd like to know the best version for this type of game. and i used RPGmaker VX Ace ! I highly recommend it if you want to get into making pixel rpgs like this! its a very fun program to use and extremely versatile! theres so many scripts to play with that really push the limits of the engine and its fun to experiment! i wish you so much luck in your game development journey!

yes! you need to collect all the diary pages and get the true ending in the same run, once you get to the bonus room after the ending credits of the true end you can use the arcade machines along the back wall to play bonus chapters and one of them includes a small scene with eve/tate ^w^ (the amount of diary pages determines which chapters unlock, i.e 2 pages to unlock the first one, 4 pages to unlock the first and second, etc)
oh?? what do you mean the wrong side? it should put you on the side before you placed the board, the board has to be in place in order for you to get into the lobby area
you only wanna take the board anyway if you havent solved the xray puzzle since one of the xray clues requires the board, but if you got that already you can just leave the board in place on the 2nd floor
that should be fixed now! once you get the garden spade, if you try to take the board with you, you should get an auto scene where randall places the board back and doesnt let you pick it back up to prevent soft locking like in the demo ^^
you could try "winebottler" ! ive heard from some people it allows you to play rpgmaker games on mac! i cant promise itll work well/at all though since i do not have a mac and cannot verify it ;w; but i recommend searching it on google and seeing what you think!

Or at the end of the secret ending where Tate and Randall share a smooch, I didn't have those either! Maybe it just didn't count me as getting them?

theres also a small issue where the game over cg during the tate/messiah ending doesnt get locked in due to there not being a save bc its a game over, im working hard to get that fixed by tomorrow if you'd like to wait til i update the dev log with the newest version! you can redownload the game after ive uploaded the newest version and just drag and drop your save files over and you shouldnt lose anything!
I also added a little more content in the moths dream as well as fixed up some other small areas in the game ;w;

Been playing thru the game for the past few days and its been an awesome ride! Did 3/6 endings so far! We are also a system and reading Gaspar's explanation of their experience to Mya in the cafe scene was so on-point it made me and other system friends watching us play legit cry /vpos. This game is so special and so important to us, thank you so much for creating this and allowing others to experience it <3
I have a question tho! During Moths nightmare sequence, is there some sort of easteregg code youre supposed to imput in the telephone room? The one where every phone says 1 5 or 9! Thats the only one we couldnt figure out ourselves </3

Jokes aside, I would like to talk about how important this game is to me. I met it at the beginning of last year, at a time when I was obsessed with visual novels and indie games in general. When I saw the gameplay, I was... Obsessed with everything that involved this universe. I received a report of ADHD and am under investigation for autism, and I developed such a HUGE hyper fixation on purpleverse. I spent hours researching every piece of lore, I kept creating theories in my head, as if I were investigating an enigma. I analyzed every CG, every page of Randall's diary, every single thing. Nowadays I still LOVE purpleverse, I'm not hyper focused like before, but I still love every story that is told. I even dyed my hair purple because my friends said I was LITERALLY Randall in appearance and personality, I think I should be a little worried about that XD
But like it or not, I identify a lot with Randall. I don't have DID and I didn't even kill my uncles, but his constant lack of memory, low self-esteem, attempted suicide and self mutilation, The fear of rejection, the bad relationship with family is so... Relatable. non-ironically I cried at the end of the game. I'm glad that's the point of the game: for you to know you're not alone. And I also like the fact that the developer knows what it's like to have these problems.It's not a million-dollar company that only makes relatable games to sell, but rather a person with problems who wants to vent and make other people relatable. This is so... Cute and heart-warming, you know?
I'm excited to uncover the story of Purpleverse, but don't put pressure on yourself! Take a break, get some air and rest. Making a game practically alone is difficult, and I say that as developer too.
I played the extended demo nearly 2 years ago, and I gotta say... PURPLE was worth the wait!
The story was interesting to uncover as the game went on. Although it was emotionally painful to see Randall's memories. I really felt bad for him, and it was sad to see Moths hurt people in the name of protecting Randall. But it also made me want to see where the story went. (Some of those endings were positively devastating... and some were wonderful— like the Therapy End, which might just be my favorite one.)
Even beyond the story, I really enjoyed the gameplay (and the art! The updated CGs and animations were so good!) The puzzles were interesting, the maps were very cool (I particularly enjoyed the dream sequences) and the entire atmosphere of the game was just very well done. And, of course, the soundtrack just added to that! There were parts of the game that made me so tense, partially because of the music and sound effects.
I think, however, my favorite part of the game was the characters. Particularly Mya and Randall. They're both very likeable characters, and their friendship is just so sweet. (I also loved Mason. He's freakin' adorable, and such a sweetheart)
It was a very heartfelt game, and even if I don't have DID, it's been really cool to see so many people relate to PURPLE. Y'all did a great job with this game. I can see the love (and the time) that you've put into it. I'm very much looking forward to the sequel! Sadly I didn't find all of the secrets, but that gives me a reason to go back and play for myself at some point before playing the sequel.
(Also, as an aside, I adored the song on the credits of the True End. It had such a melancholy feel to it. It suited the game so well.)
This game is amazing in so many ways, but mostly because I relate somewhat. I have DID, and one of my alters is so much like Moths, except for... a certain really dark habit ^_^; My relationship with them is so similar there were a few times I thought I was reading similar words to my own in some of the later journal entries. Overall though the story is amazing and it's based on the dev's own feelings about their experiences, which is valid. Nothing was too hard to figure out or get through, and the art is fantastic! Definitely one of my favorite games ♥
I'm stuck in the pizzeria part of the secret route, I don't know what I'm supposed to do, I can't beat the game with moths and where to find the roof, I think I read that more people are stuck in this part
I think I missed the first half of the code you need to get into the staff room in the hospital, and now I'm not sure what to do because I can't find it anywhere and I can't go anywhere other than the main lobby, cafeteria, floor 1,and floor 3. I really dont want to replay the game since I'm hours into it at this point, but I don't think there's any way to go back if I really missed it :( Is there still a way to get it?
How do you get out of the apartment when your playing as Mya in the true route (like after she found tate, I have the manager key I just can't get out)
hmm thats strange O: it could be your windows firewall, try to right click the blue box and "run as administrator" and see if itll let it extract it all the way that way
After I found Myas sisters corpse I can't grab the thing in the drain? Im assuming that u have to grab the earring hook (which I did grab) though it still doesn't work :P if somebody knows how to fix it pls let me know!!
Im stuck in Bunny’s Pizzeria I’ve been through the vent almost 15 times and idk if I missed smth? I did play the arcade game and got the item from the pay phone; got the cafe scene with Mya before entering?
I got this game off a free key. I've been majorly hyperfixated on purple directors cut since 2022 when my friend showed me the extended demo. This game touches base with practically almost everything, it is major rep. For the lgbt community, the therian community and the system community. Of course the game is going to be dark as there are dark subjects about being a system. For a game made with an rpgmaker I am incredibly impressed. The game at most has so much story and you have to be patient. It takes time and understanding but this game is genuinely so important to me. Somehow I connect with every single character atleast somehow. Me and my boyfriend kin Randall and Tate unexpectedly hard. I'm really glad now that the full release had came out, I can show all my friends. I really hope this game gets the closure it deserves.
I'm a lil slow at video games so I've only gotten the true ending and the no pills ending so far but holy shit-
I love this game so much.
It's just so detailed and well made and the music??? Holy shit it's all so good, also the song at the end?! honestly so much gender envy.

Am I right, is this in the Moths' dream? If so, there will be spoilers below.
You need to get a syringe in a world with cockroaches, then in the same world teleport through a pool of blood into a maze, find a colorful house, there you will get cigarettes. Go to the blue door, where there will be a white space with monsters. Through one of the monsters, teleport into space with mother (that creepy creature is Randall's mother) and interact with her. After receiving a knife from her, return to the world with cockroaches and interact with trash cans until you find yourself in an enclosed space with a lantern. Interact with phone, and then with the portal and (if I'm not mistaken) use the phone again and you will find yourself in a rainy forest, where you will find the last house (there you will receive a tape)

I've just been hyperfixated on this game for almost a year now (and I don't want to expose my friends to my endless chatter about it) and, as for comments, it helps me cope with anxiety and lack of communication. Well, I'm glad if it also helped someone with the advancement in the game and reduced your work on answering repetitive questions!^u^

hmm well theres no demo files on this page to download (i actually made an entirely new game page for the full game so that wouldnt be possible)
you must be cancelling the download and finding the demo in your old downloads
i know windows has been extra picky lately with indie games, i had the same issue with "thats not my neighbor" when i got it
i recommend trying again and moving your purple demo into a different folder than where youre downloading the full game. when the windows popup shows up, make sure youre hitting "allow download" and when you run it, if you get that popup about it not being sure, click "more options" and "run anyway".

are you sure its the demo version? did you play through it already ? the demo version ends once you get through the hospital, does the game still end there for you?
the only other thing i can think of is if youre maybe downloading the wrong thing from your downloads on itchio, are you downloading the game from the game page or are you doing it from somewhere else?
ok where are you downloading it from? are you downloading it from the gamepage or are you downloading it from your old itchio downloads?
you are unfortunately the only person whos had this issue because its not really even possible for you to be downloading the demo from here x_x
the only thing i can think of is you downloaded the demo before and youre downloading the wrong file from your previous itchio downloads and not the actual game page
that or youre trying to download it and because it has the same file name your computer wont replace it for some reason
It seems that this method didn't work for me the last time I tried it. If I'm not mistaken, the f1 on my laptop performs some kind of function and refuses to work for anything else. And the f5 button is completely empty, so it works with it. This applies not only to purple, but also to other games and other keys that already perform some function
Speaking of keys, I was wondering if there's any reason why the game doesn't support wasd controls? I didn't really understand how the rpg maker works and maybe it's basically impossible, but I was confused the first time because I was used to having the controls on the left and the shift on the right
actually! i had placed a script to get WASD keys to work, however it proved to cause more problems in the long run with key binds during beta testing so i had to remove it
im not sure why rpgmaker doesnt support WASD tbh, it seems pretty dumb to me as well, but at least it does support controller functions

The code for the staff room consists of 6 numbers. Check the cafeteria, there will be an object that is not in place. Return it to its place and you will receive 1 part of the code
I am not sure if this is normal or what happened or how to fix this but after playing purple my laptop got stuck with a smaller aspect ratio and black bars around the screen (it won't let me upload a picture btw)
The aspect ratio had gotten changed somehow. Just go to settings, display settings, display and resolution and just find whichever one fits your laptop/pc.
I didn't keep track of which events take place on which day, but it looks like he should get into the apartment only the next day(?) inspect the box near uncle and aunt's apartment, if you haven't done it yet, and go to bed
Absolutely loved the game!! Played blind (with help from the walkthrough) and got the bad ending, lol- Just one question! Is there a CG gallery, or do they come up as the game progresses and we can't access them separately later?
the CG gallery is available in the bonus room after you beat the true end! just make sure you save whenever you beat an ending (you should get a prompt at the end of the credits) and dont save over it and it should lock the gallery pages in!
the way to make a gallery work in rpgmaker in a game with different endings is a little annoying XD
just finished playing all six endings. It took me two days but boy was it worth it. Once again this was one of the best games I ever played in a while.

So, I've just finished the 3rd(?) chase of the hospital, running away from the moth after Mya turns into them, but when I go to do the code on the door, it seems like I don't have the full thing? I've searched all the rooms on the 1st and 3rd floor again (the second is locked still) and I haven't found anything. Is there some action I need to take to let Randall try and use the scrap I have to fill in the code or?

The puzzles were interesting, the maps were very cool (I particularly enjoyed the dream sequences) and the entire atmosphere of the game was just very well done.
And, of course, the soundtrack just added to that! There were parts of the game that made me so tense, partially because of the music and sound effects.
I think, however, my favorite part of the game was the characters. Particularly Mya and Randall. They're both very likeable characters, and their friendship is just so sweet.
(I also loved Mason. He's freakin' adorable, and such a sweetheart)
It was a very heartfelt game, and even if I don't have DID, it's been really cool to see so many people relate to PURPLE.
Y'all did a great job with this game. I can see the love (and the time) that you've put into it. I'm very much looking forward to the sequel!
Sadly I didn't find all of the secrets, but that gives me a reason to go back and play for myself at some point before playing the sequel.
(Also, as an aside, I adored the song on the credits of the True End. It had such a melancholy feel to it. It suited the game so well.)
This game is amazing in so many ways, but mostly because I relate somewhat. I have DID, and one of my alters is so much like Moths, except for... a certain really dark habit ^_^; My relationship with them is so similar there were a few times I thought I was reading similar words to my own in some of the later journal entries. Overall though the story is amazing and it's based on the dev's own feelings about their experiences, which is valid. Nothing was too hard to figure out or get through, and the art is fantastic! Definitely one of my favorite games ♥

I'm stuck in the pizzeria part of the secret route, I don't know what I'm supposed to do, I can't beat the game with moths and where to find the roof, I think I read that more people are stuck in this part

the secret to beating moths is to not attack him, but instead use the ??? attack on him over and over until hes defeated
I think I missed the first half of the code you need to get into the staff room in the hospital, and now I'm not sure what to do because I can't find it anywhere and I can't go anywhere other than the main lobby, cafeteria, floor 1,and floor 3. I really dont want to replay the game since I'm hours into it at this point, but I don't think there's any way to go back if I really missed it :( Is there still a way to get it?
It's in the cafeteria! There's a chair out of place. You need to move it to an empty place and you will get 1 part of the code

Im stuck in Bunny’s Pizzeria I’ve been through the vent almost 15 times and idk if I missed smth? I did play the arcade game and got the item from the pay phone; got the cafe scene with Mya before entering?
ah you just have to navigate through it, if you end up outside it, you went the wrong way, you essentially just have to find the right order to go
a good indication is the last vent to turn has a lot of black mold around it
youre trying to get to the backroom, up a ladder and then onto the roof for an item
i recommend writing it down or drawing a map as you go!

I got this game off a free key. I've been majorly hyperfixated on purple directors cut since 2022 when my friend showed me the extended demo. This game touches base with practically almost everything, it is major rep. For the lgbt community, the therian community and the system community. Of course the game is going to be dark as there are dark subjects about being a system. For a game made with an rpgmaker I am incredibly impressed. The game at most has so much story and you have to be patient. It takes time and understanding but this game is genuinely so important to me. Somehow I connect with every single character atleast somehow. Me and my boyfriend kin Randall and Tate unexpectedly hard. I'm really glad now that the full release had came out, I can show all my friends. I really hope this game gets the closure it deserves.

I love this game so much.

Am I right, is this in the Moths' dream? If so, there will be spoilers below.
You need to get a syringe in a world with cockroaches, then in the same world teleport through a pool of blood into a maze, find a colorful house, there you will get cigarettes. Go to the blue door, where there will be a white space with monsters. Through one of the monsters, teleport into space with mother (that creepy creature is Randall's mother) and interact with her. After receiving a knife from her, return to the world with cockroaches and interact with trash cans until you find yourself in an enclosed space with a lantern. Interact with phone, and then with the portal and (if I'm not mistaken) use the phone again and you will find yourself in a rainy forest, where you will find the last house (there you will receive a tape)

hmm well theres no demo files on this page to download (i actually made an entirely new game page for the full game so that wouldnt be possible)
you must be cancelling the download and finding the demo in your old downloads
i know windows has been extra picky lately with indie games, i had the same issue with "thats not my neighbor" when i got it
i recommend trying again and moving your purple demo into a different folder than where youre downloading the full game. when the windows popup shows up, make sure youre hitting "allow download" and when you run it, if you get that popup about it not being sure, click "more options" and "run anyway".

the only thing i can think of is you downloaded the demo before and youre downloading the wrong file from your previous itchio downloads and not the actual game page
that or youre trying to download it and because it has the same file name your computer wont replace it for some reason

It seems that this method didn't work for me the last time I tried it. If I'm not mistaken, the f1 on my laptop performs some kind of function and refuses to work for anything else. And the f5 button is completely empty, so it works with it. This applies not only to purple, but also to other games and other keys that already perform some function

Speaking of keys, I was wondering if there's any reason why the game doesn't support wasd controls? I didn't really understand how the rpg maker works and maybe it's basically impossible, but I was confused the first time because I was used to having the controls on the left and the shift on the right
actually! i had placed a script to get WASD keys to work, however it proved to cause more problems in the long run with key binds during beta testing so i had to remove it
im not sure why rpgmaker doesnt support WASD tbh, it seems pretty dumb to me as well, but at least it does support controller functions

The code for the staff room consists of 6 numbers. Check the cafeteria, there will be an object that is not in place. Return it to its place and you will receive 1 part of the code

The aspect ratio had gotten changed somehow. Just go to settings, display settings, display and resolution and just find whichever one fits your laptop/pc.

but it wont let me enter his apartment? q-q

I didn't keep track of which events take place on which day, but it looks like he should get into the apartment only the next day(?) inspect the box near uncle and aunt's apartment, if you haven't done it yet, and go to bed

Absolutely loved the game!! Played blind (with help from the walkthrough) and got the bad ending, lol- Just one question! Is there a CG gallery, or do they come up as the game progresses and we can't access them separately later?
the CG gallery is available in the bonus room after you beat the true end! just make sure you save whenever you beat an ending (you should get a prompt at the end of the credits) and dont save over it and it should lock the gallery pages in!
the way to make a gallery work in rpgmaker in a game with different endings is a little annoying XD
just finished playing all six endings. It took me two days but boy was it worth it. Once again this was one of the best games I ever played in a while.

Really fun game, just one issue. gonna spoiler it in case it's that bad.
So, I've just finished the 3rd(?) chase of the hospital, running away from the moth after Mya turns into them, but when I go to do the code on the door, it seems like I don't have the full thing? I've searched all the rooms on the 1st and 3rd floor again (the second is locked still) and I haven't found anything. Is there some action I need to take to let Randall try and use the scrap I have to fill in the code or?
