it seems to be a glitch rather than a bug though which isnt necessarily something i can fix x_x but ill try my best to figure out a work around! thank you for letting me know about it, my friends computer is super messed up so we assumed that was what caused the glitch with him, but knowing its happened to someone else helped a ton!

hello! all the pixel sprites were made in aseprite and were drawn by my husband bileshroom!
but i will say, pixel art was actually the most grueling part of the game development process, each sprite took quite a while to draw and that was using the same basic process for each of them. every sprite requires 3 frames from each angle; front, left, right, back, each with a step animation for a full walk cycle.
theres not really an app to have it done for you unfortunately, aseprite is just a program for drawing specifically pixel art ^^; i know theres some free bases for walk cycle sprites out there though if you search for them that might help !
If youre making an rpgmaker game like this one, i recommend using placeholders while you work on the game and then focusing on those later ! rpgmaker has some preset sprites you can use in the engine that you can use as placeholders ^^

I've been waiting for the game to be released for a long time, but in the end I can't buy it. the paypal method does not work, since there are sanctions in my country and it is impossible to register for paypal. from the doorway you enter the black and white world, go up about 6 steps and then turn left and go forward until you see the first big TV with an eyeball, the diary page will be to the left of that TV (like two steps above it and 5 steps to the left of it)

ah its an FPS issue with your graphics card i think! try closing out of other programs before relaunching, if it still lags, restart your computer and try to run it again O:
Hey- every time I go to save it comes up with an error that says, "Script 'Game_System" line 91: TypeError occurred. no implicit conversion from nil to integer". Is anyone else having this problem? If so- is there anyway to fix it?
hm i just tested it myself on the version of the game uploaded and it seems to be working for me
could i ask some things to narrow it down?
-is it any save location or just one area specific?
-did you transfer saves from a previous version of the game?
-did you transfer saves from an old copy that allowed saving from menu? saving from menu has since been patched and if you transferred saves from a copy that allowed it, it could mess up the script and cause the error youre having

as project wise, i am working on getting purple prepped for a small update and a steam release but then we'll be focusing on an updated demo for the sequel "The Phobia Project" and then once that's done we may be focusing on our adults only murder VN, but thats up in the air currently

But I do wish to ask, as a fellow indie game maker, did you use RPG maker to make this game? and which version? if you feel comfortable telling me, I'd like to make my own custom game but I'd like to know the best version for this type of game. and i used RPGmaker VX Ace ! I highly recommend it if you want to get into making pixel rpgs like this! its a very fun program to use and extremely versatile! theres so many scripts to play with that really push the limits of the engine and its fun to experiment! i wish you so much luck in your game development journey!

yes! you need to collect all the diary pages and get the true ending in the same run, once you get to the bonus room after the ending credits of the true end you can use the arcade machines along the back wall to play bonus chapters and one of them includes a small scene with eve/tate ^w^ (the amount of diary pages determines which chapters unlock, i.e 2 pages to unlock the first one, 4 pages to unlock the first and second, etc)
oh?? what do you mean the wrong side? it should put you on the side before you placed the board, the board has to be in place in order for you to get into the lobby area
you only wanna take the board anyway if you havent solved the xray puzzle since one of the xray clues requires the board, but if you got that already you can just leave the board in place on the 2nd floor
that should be fixed now! once you get the garden spade, if you try to take the board with you, you should get an auto scene where randall places the board back and doesnt let you pick it back up to prevent soft locking like in the demo ^^
you could try "winebottler" ! ive heard from some people it allows you to play rpgmaker games on mac! i cant promise itll work well/at all though since i do not have a mac and cannot verify it ;w; but i recommend searching it on google and seeing what you think!

For example, the one where Mya is bending down to pick up Sausage, but instead of Randall (or Moths I guess) Being there, Tate was standing there.
Or at the end of the secret ending where Tate and Randall share a smooch, I didn't have those either! Maybe it just didn't count me as getting them?

theres also a small issue where the game over cg during the tate/messiah ending doesnt get locked in due to there not being a save bc its a game over, im working hard to get that fixed by tomorrow if you'd like to wait til i update the dev log with the newest version! you can redownload the game after ive uploaded the newest version and just drag and drop your save files over and you shouldnt lose anything!
I also added a little more content in the moths dream as well as fixed up some other small areas in the game ;w;

Been playing thru the game for the past few days and its been an awesome ride! Did 3/6 endings so far! We are also a system and reading Gaspar's explanation of their experience to Mya in the cafe scene was so on-point it made me and other system friends watching us play legit cry /vpos. This game is so special and so important to us, thank you so much for creating this and allowing others to experience it <3
I have a question tho! During Moths nightmare sequence, is there some sort of easteregg code youre supposed to imput in the telephone room? The one where every phone says 1 5 or 9! Thats the only one we couldnt figure out ourselves </3

Are you supposed to step on the buttons in the neat laid-out numpad on the floor, using the telephone booths, or some mixture of both? I've attempted that number combination a few times but nothing seems to change @~@ so sorry for the bother!

Jokes aside, I would like to talk about how important this game is to me. I met it at the beginning of last year, at a time when I was obsessed with visual novels and indie games in general. When I saw the gameplay, I was... Obsessed with everything that involved this universe. I received a report of ADHD and am under investigation for autism, and I developed such a HUGE hyper fixation on purpleverse. I spent hours researching every piece of lore, I kept creating theories in my head, as if I were investigating an enigma. I analyzed every CG, every page of Randall's diary, every single thing. Nowadays I still LOVE purpleverse, I'm not hyper focused like before, but I still love every story that is told. I even dyed my hair purple because my friends said I was LITERALLY Randall in appearance and personality, I think I should be a little worried about that XD
But like it or not, I identify a lot with Randall. I don't have DID and I didn't even kill my uncles, but his constant lack of memory, low self-esteem, attempted suicide and self mutilation, The fear of rejection, the bad relationship with family is so... Relatable. non-ironically I cried at the end of the game. I'm glad that's the point of the game: for you to know you're not alone. And I also like the fact that the developer knows what it's like to have these problems.It's not a million-dollar company that only makes relatable games to sell, but rather a person with problems who wants to vent and make other people relatable. This is so... Cute and heart-warming, you know?
I'm excited to uncover the story of Purpleverse, but don't put pressure on yourself! Take a break, get some air and rest. Making a game practically alone is difficult, and I say that as developer too.
I played the extended demo nearly 2 years ago, and I gotta say... PURPLE was worth the wait!
The story was interesting to uncover as the game went on. Although it was emotionally painful to see Randall's memories. I really felt bad for him, and it was sad to see Moths hurt people in the name of protecting Randall. But it also made me want to see where the story went. (Some of those endings were positively devastating... and some were wonderful— like the Therapy End, which might just be my favorite one.)
Even beyond the story, I really enjoyed the gameplay (and the art! The updated CGs and animations were so good!) The puzzles were interesting, the maps were very cool (I particularly enjoyed the dream sequences) and the entire atmosphere of the game was just very well done. And, of course, the soundtrack just added to that! There were parts of the game that made me so tense, partially because of the music and sound effects.
I think, however, my favorite part of the game was the characters. Particularly Mya and Randall. They're both very likeable characters, and their friendship is just so sweet. (I also loved Mason. He's freakin' adorable, and such a sweetheart)
It was a very heartfelt game, and even if I don't have DID, it's been really cool to see so many people relate to PURPLE. Y'all did a great job with this game. I can see the love (and the time) that you've put into it. I'm very much looking forward to the sequel! Sadly I didn't find all of the secrets, but that gives me a reason to go back and play for myself at some point before playing the sequel.
(Also, as an aside, I adored the song on the credits of the True End. It had such a melancholy feel to it. It suited the game so well.)
This game is amazing in so many ways, but mostly because I relate somewhat. I have DID, and one of my alters is so much like Moths, except for... a certain really dark habit ^_^; My relationship with them is so similar there were a few times I thought I was reading similar words to my own in some of the later journal entries. Overall though the story is amazing and it's based on the dev's own feelings about their experiences, which is valid. Nothing was too hard to figure out or get through, and the art is fantastic! Definitely one of my favorite games ♥
I'm stuck in the pizzeria part of the secret route, I don't know what I'm supposed to do, I can't beat the game with moths and where to find the roof, I think I read that more people are stuck in this part
I think I missed the first half of the code you need to get into the staff room in the hospital, and now I'm not sure what to do because I can't find it anywhere and I can't go anywhere other than the main lobby, cafeteria, floor 1,and floor 3. I really dont want to replay the game since I'm hours into it at this point, but I don't think there's any way to go back if I really missed it :( Is there still a way to get it?
How do you get out of the apartment when your playing as Mya in the true route (like after she found tate, I have the manager key I just can't get out)
hmm thats strange O: it could be your windows firewall, try to right click the blue box and "run as administrator" and see if itll let it extract it all the way that way
After I found Myas sisters corpse I can't grab the thing in the drain? Im assuming that u have to grab the earring hook (which I did grab) though it still doesn't work :P if somebody knows how to fix it pls let me know!!
Im stuck in Bunny’s Pizzeria I’ve been through the vent almost 15 times and idk if I missed smth? I did play the arcade game and got the item from the pay phone; got the cafe scene with Mya before entering?
I got this game off a free key. I've been majorly hyperfixated on purple directors cut since 2022 when my friend showed me the extended demo. This game touches base with practically almost everything, it is major rep. For the lgbt community, the therian community and the system community. Of course the game is going to be dark as there are dark subjects about being a system. For a game made with an rpgmaker I am incredibly impressed. The game at most has so much story and you have to be patient. It takes time and understanding but this game is genuinely so important to me. Somehow I connect with every single character atleast somehow. Me and my boyfriend kin Randall and Tate unexpectedly hard. I'm really glad now that the full release had came out, I can show all my friends. I really hope this game gets the closure it deserves.
I'm a lil slow at video games so I've only gotten the true ending and the no pills ending so far but holy shit-

And Randall, like fuckkkkk if there had been someone who could have actually understood his needs and how to adequately support him maybe everything would have turned out alright

In the last dream I was so fucking confused in that maze, I love it, it all looks so cool but my shitty eyes sight could not with the screen moving.

WOW?!? one best game i ever played! :D the ending was so cool?!? will play again to get the other as well for sure?! 10/10! (sadly i got bad ending on first play XD but still happy i got it done!)

So I have a question, will we be able to get a CG Guide? Because I've played through the game and got all the endings, plus the main one, and I still am missing MILLIONSSSS. And a few I knew I got weren't even in there, like I had never gotten them in the first place!

For example, the one where Mya is bending down to pick up Sausage, but instead of Randall (or Moths I guess) Being there, Tate was standing there.
Or at the end of the secret ending where Tate and Randall share a smooch, I didn't have those either! Maybe it just didn't count me as getting them?

theres also a small issue where the game over cg during the tate/messiah ending doesnt get locked in due to there not being a save bc its a game over, im working hard to get that fixed by tomorrow if you'd like to wait til i update the dev log with the newest version! you can redownload the game after ive uploaded the newest version and just drag and drop your save files over and you shouldnt lose anything!
I also added a little more content in the moths dream as well as fixed up some other small areas in the game ;w;

Been playing thru the game for the past few days and its been an awesome ride! Did 3/6 endings so far! We are also a system and reading Gaspar's explanation of their experience to Mya in the cafe scene was so on-point it made me and other system friends watching us play legit cry /vpos. This game is so special and so important to us, thank you so much for creating this and allowing others to experience it <3
I have a question tho! During Moths nightmare sequence, is there some sort of easteregg code youre supposed to imput in the telephone room? The one where every phone says 1 5 or 9! Thats the only one we couldnt figure out ourselves </3

Are you supposed to step on the buttons in the neat laid-out numpad on the floor, using the telephone booths, or some mixture of both? I've attempted that number combination a few times but nothing seems to change @~@ so sorry for the bother!

Jokes aside, I would like to talk about how important this game is to me. I met it at the beginning of last year, at a time when I was obsessed with visual novels and indie games in general. When I saw the gameplay, I was... Obsessed with everything that involved this universe. I received a report of ADHD and am under investigation for autism, and I developed such a HUGE hyper fixation on purpleverse. I spent hours researching every piece of lore, I kept creating theories in my head, as if I were investigating an enigma. I analyzed every CG, every page of Randall's diary, every single thing. Nowadays I still LOVE purpleverse, I'm not hyper focused like before, but I still love every story that is told. I even dyed my hair purple because my friends said I was LITERALLY Randall in appearance and personality, I think I should be a little worried about that XD
But like it or not, I identify a lot with Randall. I don't have DID and I didn't even kill my uncles, but his constant lack of memory, low self-esteem, attempted suicide and self mutilation, The fear of rejection, the bad relationship with family is so... Relatable. non-ironically I cried at the end of the game. I'm glad that's the point of the game: for you to know you're not alone. And I also like the fact that the developer knows what it's like to have these problems.It's not a million-dollar company that only makes relatable games to sell, but rather a person with problems who wants to vent and make other people relatable. This is so... Cute and heart-warming, you know?
I'm excited to uncover the story of Purpleverse, but don't put pressure on yourself! Take a break, get some air and rest. Making a game practically alone is difficult, and I say that as developer too.
I played the extended demo nearly 2 years ago, and I gotta say... PURPLE was worth the wait!
The story was interesting to uncover as the game went on. Although it was emotionally painful to see Randall's memories.
I really felt bad for him, and it was sad to see Moths hurt people in the name of protecting Randall. But it also made me want to see where the story went.
(Some of those endings were positively devastating... and some were wonderful— like the Therapy End, which might just be my favorite one.)
Even beyond the story, I really enjoyed the gameplay (and the art! The updated CGs and animations were so good!)
The puzzles were interesting, the maps were very cool (I particularly enjoyed the dream sequences) and the entire atmosphere of the game was just very well done.
And, of course, the soundtrack just added to that! There were parts of the game that made me so tense, partially because of the music and sound effects.
I think, however, my favorite part of the game was the characters. Particularly Mya and Randall. They're both very likeable characters, and their friendship is just so sweet.
(I also loved Mason. He's freakin' adorable, and such a sweetheart)
It was a very heartfelt game, and even if I don't have DID, it's been really cool to see so many people relate to PURPLE.
Y'all did a great job with this game. I can see the love (and the time) that you've put into it. I'm very much looking forward to the sequel!
Sadly I didn't find all of the secrets, but that gives me a reason to go back and play for myself at some point before playing the sequel.
(Also, as an aside, I adored the song on the credits of the True End. It had such a melancholy feel to it. It suited the game so well.)
This game is amazing in so many ways, but mostly because I relate somewhat. I have DID, and one of my alters is so much like Moths, except for... a certain really dark habit ^_^; My relationship with them is so similar there were a few times I thought I was reading similar words to my own in some of the later journal entries. Overall though the story is amazing and it's based on the dev's own feelings about their experiences, which is valid. Nothing was too hard to figure out or get through, and the art is fantastic! Definitely one of my favorite games ♥

I'm stuck in the pizzeria part of the secret route, I don't know what I'm supposed to do, I can't beat the game with moths and where to find the roof, I think I read that more people are stuck in this part

the secret to beating moths is to not attack him, but instead use the ??? attack on him over and over until hes defeated
I think I missed the first half of the code you need to get into the staff room in the hospital, and now I'm not sure what to do because I can't find it anywhere and I can't go anywhere other than the main lobby, cafeteria, floor 1,and floor 3. I really dont want to replay the game since I'm hours into it at this point, but I don't think there's any way to go back if I really missed it :( Is there still a way to get it?
It's in the cafeteria! There's a chair out of place. You need to move it to an empty place and you will get 1 part of the code

You need to go to the manager's office at first.

Im stuck in Bunny’s Pizzeria I’ve been through the vent almost 15 times and idk if I missed smth? I did play the arcade game and got the item from the pay phone; got the cafe scene with Mya before entering?
ah you just have to navigate through it, if you end up outside it, you went the wrong way, you essentially just have to find the right order to go
a good indication is the last vent to turn has a lot of black mold around it
youre trying to get to the backroom, up a ladder and then onto the roof for an item
i recommend writing it down or drawing a map as you go!

I remember playing the earliest version of this game, and even making a badly drawn moths blog at one point.

I got this game off a free key. I've been majorly hyperfixated on purple directors cut since 2022 when my friend showed me the extended demo. This game touches base with practically almost everything, it is major rep. For the lgbt community, the therian community and the system community. Of course the game is going to be dark as there are dark subjects about being a system. For a game made with an rpgmaker I am incredibly impressed. The game at most has so much story and you have to be patient. It takes time and understanding but this game is genuinely so important to me. Somehow I connect with every single character atleast somehow. Me and my boyfriend kin Randall and Tate unexpectedly hard. I'm really glad now that the full release had came out, I can show all my friends. I really hope this game gets the closure it deserves.

I love this game so much.
It's just so detailed and well made and the music??? Holy shit it's all so good, also the song at the end?! honestly so much gender envy.
Also Ivy showing up in the no pills ending had me flabbergasted

And Randall, like fuckkkkk if there had been someone who could have actually understood his needs and how to adequately support him maybe everything would have turned out alright
